Laura Jamieson

Laura Jamieson writes YA and Adult fiction.

She started writing fanfiction as a teenager, before studying creative writing at the University of East Anglia. In 2026, she won a London Writers Award to develop her first novel.

Laura has an appetite for stories that are weird, dark and unsettling, and finds these themes claw their way into all of her work. Her gateway into the horror genre was through reading Chuck Palahniuk's short story Guts. Another favourite is Iain Banks' novel The Wasp Factory.

When not writing, Laura can often be found running and volunteering at various races as a pacer. Half-Scottish, she is based in London but feels most at home in the Highlands, and returns as often as she can.
